Praying the Liturgy of the Hours with the Community of St. John is an integral part of the formation provided by Eagle Eye Ministries. Of the practice of praying the Liturgy of the Hours, the Catechism of the Catholic Church States:

In this public prayer of the Church, the faithful (clergy, religious, and lay people) exercise the royal priesthood of the baptized. Celebrated in the form approved by the Church, the Liturgy of the Hours is truly the voice of the Bride herself addressed to her Bridegroom. It is the very prayer which Christ himself together with his Body addresses to the Father. CCC #1174

For the benefit of the faithful, the Community of St. John streams Lauds (Morning Prayer), Sext (Midday Prayer), and Vespers (Evening Prayer) LIVE.

To learn more about the Liturgy of the Hours, check out the Catechism of the Catholic Church #1174 – 1178.

The psalmody of the Community of St. John differs slightly from the psalmody found in the four-volume breviary set used by diocesan priests and the laity.
